Hastings Goes Low at Glendale
Low scores filled the cards at Glendale on Monday, August 17th as another Utah State Qualifier was underway. The top qualifying spots held by Peyton Hastings and John Owen carded no bogeys and an eagle a piece. Both eagles came on par 5 holes. Hastings and Owen also had 7 birdies and 6 birdies, respectively. Hastings had the low score today at 63 (-9) with Owen just one shot behind at 64 (-8).
The cut was set at 69 (-3) with two players needing a playoff to decide the alternate spots. The playoff lasted only one hole with Rich Tripp securing his 1st alternate spot and now a chance to compete in the State Am. 65s (-7) were posted from Devin Tovey and John Fox with Heath Westfall carding a 66 (-6). Emmitt Harris and Greg Slack both shot 67 (-5) and Adam Whitt rounded out the definite qualifiers with a 68 (-4).
