Hameed, Roberts & Anderson top leaderboard at Fox Hollow
A trio of golfers sat atop the leaderboard at the end of the 18-hole qualifier at Fox Hollow Golf Course on Tuesday afternoon. Logan Roberts had a roller coaster round that included six birdies, an eagle and three bogeys to finish at 67 (-5). Also finishing with a 67 was SUU Thunderbird Ali Hameed who also carded six birdies with just a lone bogey on the card. Cody Anderson carded eight birdies and three bogeys to tie for medalist position at 67. Kihei Akina finished solo fourth with a 3-under 69 and Helaman Ofahengaue shot a 2-under 70 to claim fifth position and a birth in the State Amateur.
A 5 for 3 spot playoff followed the competition and saw Austin Hammond, KJ Ofahengaue and Ryan Barber punch their tickets to Jeremy Ranch with Brandon Ballif earning First Alternate and Grace Summerhays continuing a stellar summer earning the second alternate spot. With only a handful of qualifiers remaining the championship field is starting to take shape.
