Youth on Course partners with Utah Golf Association and Utah Golf Foundation

(PEBBLE BEACH, CA) — Youth on Course — the non-profit organization providing rounds of golf for $5 or less, scholarships and caddie programs – announces a partnership with the Utah Golf Association and Utah Golf Foundation that will bring key junior golf access benefits to the Beehive state.

Utah joins a growing list of states including California, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Arizona to embrace Youth on Course platforms that provide access to golf for kids ages 6-18. Born in Northern California, YOC has grown to include nearly 15,000 members who have access to unlimited affordable golf.

Salt Lake City and St. George-area courses that are offering $5 or less rounds for YOC members include (others to come):

Schneiter’s Bluff Golf Course
Schneitner’s Riverside Golf
East Bay Golf Course (Our hours are Sun- Thurs on the Championship course and everyday on the Par 3 Course)
Hobble Creek Golf Course (weekdays anytime, only after 12:00 p.m. on weekends / holidays)
St. George Golf Club
Sunbrook Golf Club
Dixie Red Hills Golf Course
Southgate Golf Club

“We want to expand and increase opportunities for junior golfers in Utah, specifically to complement the instructional and tournament programming our state already offers,” says Utah Golf Foundation and Utah Golf Association (UGA) Executive Director Bill Walker. “It’s clear that Youth on Course fills that niche and we’re excited to hit the ground running with the first group of participating courses.”

Through the subsidizing of greens fees, Youth on Course enables juniors to play golf for $5 or less at hundreds of courses, eliminating the financial barrier that might prohibit them from enjoying the game. The organization also provides opportunities for meaningful employment through paid high school internships and caddie positions. Additionally, $282,000 in college scholarships were awarded to 50 deserving members in the past year – part of an ongoing mission to provide educational support.

“Utah has a great history with golf and its junior programming is formidable and growing,” says Youth on Course Executive Director Adam Heieck. “We hope to foster that community even further and build lasting relationships between the state’s young golfers.”
