The First Tee of Utah Needs Golf Equipment!

By Megan Terry, Programs Administrator

The First Tee of Utah, a program providing educational programs to young people through the game of golf, is in need of donated golf equipment. Executive Director Paul Pugmire is low on girls' complete sets, men’s and women’s complete sets and left-handed clubs. Equipment can be donated to The First Tee of Utah office (680 West 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah 84119) Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. or to the Golf The Round pro shop seven days a week 7 a.m.-9 p.m. You will receive a donation receipt for your contributions.

The First Tee of Utah supports the Utah Golf Foundation, the 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable arm of the Utah Golf Foundation, by managing the Vets Club Depot, a free program offering golf equipment to veterans new to golf who participate in the Utah Golf Foundation’s Veterans on Course program. The First Tee of Utah’s office is located next to the Golf The Round driving range and west of the covered hitting bays. Veterans can schedule appointments to visit the Vets Club Depot by filling out the Vets Club Depot appointment form located under the “Veterans on Course” tab at utahgolffoundation.org.

Veterans on Course (VOC) was started by the Utah Golf Foundation in 2016 as a pilot program to provide instruction and playing opportunities to veterans free of charge. Each event consists of lessons from PGA Professionals, a nine-hole three- or four-person scramble tournament and a social gathering with hors d’oeuvres and a guest speaker. The 2017 season schedule includes nine on-course events, six in Northern Utah and three in Southern Utah.

Monetary donations to the Utah Golf Foundation can be made at utahgolffoundation.org or by calling the UGF office at 801-563-0400. All proceeds will go toward funding the Utah Golf Foundation’s Veterans on Course and Utah Youth on Course programs.

Thank you for supporting the Utah Golf Foundation and its Vets Club Depot, Veterans on Course and Utah Youth on Course initiatives. Your commitment enables the UGF to fulfill its mission “to provide financial support to programs that expand opportunity and access to those who wish to play the game of golf in Utah.”
