Uinta Golf name returns to Utah
SALT LAKE CITY – Edwin Watts Golf- Uinta was recently sold to Worldwide Golf. The Uinta Golf’s five stores in Salt Lake, Sandy, Riverdale, Orem and St. George will all remain open and will once again operate under the Uinta Golf brand according to Joe Judd, Utah District Manager.
The employees, along with management, of the five stores will remain local and customers will be able to continue to work with familiar faces according to Judd. He continued, “We have been working for years to build customer loyalty and provide our customers with the best service, product knowledge and value in golf and we are committed to continuing that tradition.”
“We appreciate the loyalty of our customers and we are going to continue to work harder than ever to take care of every golfers needs.”
Two years ago the five Uinta Golf stores were purchased from local owner Sean Smith by Edwin Watts Golf. Edwin Watts Golf went into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November 2013. 49 of the Edwin Watts stores, including the five here in Utah, were purchased out of bankruptcy by Worldwide Golf, a family owned business that has been serving golfers for over 50 years.
Worldwide Golf operates under the following names, Roger Dunn Golf Shops, Vans Golf Shops, the Golf Mart and Golfer’s Warehouse. In December 2013 they added the Uinta Golf Stores along with the Edwin Watts Golf Shops to their name.
