Steele Dewald Claims Medalist Honors at TalonsCove State Amateur Qualifier

Steele Dewald emerged as the medalist in today’s State Amateur Qualifier at TalonsCove Golf Club, finishing with an impressive score of -4 (68). Despite the cold and windy conditions for a late May day, Dewald’s performance secured his spot among the 11 players who qualified for the 126th Utah State Amateur Championship. The cut came at +2 (74), underscoring the challenging weather and course conditions.
When asked about the impact of the weather on his game, Dewald emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and not letting external conditions dictate his performance. “I simply focused my energy on playing golf, one stroke at a time,” he stated.
The 126th Utah State Amateur Championship will be hosted at Ogden Golf & Country Club from July 8-13, where Dewald and his fellow qualifiers will compete for the prestigious title.
