Justin Shluker Sweeps Salt Lake City Majors

With his two-stroke victory in the Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Salt Lake City Open, Justin Shluker became the first player to claim both the SLC Amateur and Open in the same year since 1966.

Justin Shluker is anticipating a relocation to Salt Lake City’s Sugar House neighborhood in the coming weeks. The move will give him another landmark to remember a year when he has thrived on some of the city’s most prized property.

Just to extend the theme, Shluker made history Sunday at Bonneville Golf Course with a victory in a golf tournament sponsored by a real estate firm. With his two-stroke victory over PGA Professionals Mark Owen and Casey Fowles in the Summit Sotheby’s International Realty Salt Lake City Open, Shluker became the first player to claim both the SLC Amateur and Open in the same year since Bruce Summerhays in 1966.

Shluker, 27, shot 67-67 at Bonneville in June and came back with a 67-65 showing that featured an eagle in each round. He finished at 12 under par, while playing eight par-5 holes in 10 under for two days.
