Blair Medalist, 32 Players Set for Match Play at 116th Utah Women’s State Amateur

Utah Women’s State Amateur stroke play medalist Tess Blair discusses tee shot strategy with caddie/father, Bob Blair.

Former champions, all five of them, teed off Monday’s stroke play qualifying round of the 116th Utah Women’s State Amateur. Defending champion Lila Galeai launched the first ball in the air off of the No.1 hole at Ogden Golf and Country Club to begin the championship which features a smaller but stronger field than the last few years.

At the end of the day it was 2018 champion Tess Blair earning medalist honors with a (-2) 70 to claim the number one seed in Tuesday’s match play round of 32 players.
