Brimley/Jennings Three-peat at Utah Four-Ball Championship

Utah amateur veterans Ryan Brimley and David Jennings hold off University of Utah freshman teammates to capture their third UGA championship title.

They’re on a roll and currently own three straight Utah Four-Ball championship titles. The team of Ryan Brimley and David Jennings seem to have figured this annual team championship out. While there have been other teams able to win two titles, Dan Horner/Darrin Overson and Brigham Gibbs/Jon Wright, the Brimley/Jennings team is the first to win three and three straight.

Surviving fading sunlight and cool temperatures at Park Meadows Golf Club near Park City, the two long time Utah amateurs, who are no strangers to Utah Golf Association winner’s circles, defeated a pair of University of Utah freshman teammates in Martin Leon (the Utah State Amateur champion) and Zach Neff, 1 up.

That’s after winning three other matches over two days on the way to the championship match that didn’t tee off until mid-afternoon, Sept. 21. Brimley/Jennings defeated David Boardman/Jordan Collins 6 & 5, Austin Anderson/Jacob Byers in 25-holes. Their semifinals match with Andrew Cottle & Peyton Hastings, was conceded.
