High Temps Bring Low Scores at Sky Mountain
On a course that is known to have challenging wind on a regular basis, a day of hot, calm conditions led to low scores across the board. Tyson Lund topped the State Amateur qualifying field with a smooth -7, 65 with the cut for the eight qualifying spots coming at two under par. Lucas Schone fired a -6, 66 to finished in the number two position. Despite temperatures in the triple digits for days on end, Sky Mountain was lush green and in optimal condition for qualifying.

In the Senior State Amateur qualifier Rick Lloyd(-1) and Eric Rustand (E) advanced to the championship edging out the likes of Randy Stewman and former Utah State Amateur champion Steve Borget.
Mike Hacker had everything working and put up 9 birdies and two bogeys to shoot seven under par and claim the lone Super Senior division spot.
In the Net division Doug Bowers advanced with a net 73 (+1).
