Annette Gaiotti has reached a stage of her senior golf career where she’s proud of her age.

She acknowledges not hitting the ball as far as some of the younger players in the senior division. As she pointed out, “I have 14 years on them.”

Fair to say, Gaiotti is thriving in her 60s. She’s the 2019 UGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year, thanks mostly to a victory in the new Senior Women’s State Amateur. Gaiotti beat Elizabeth Jones 6 and 4 in the final match at Tuhaye Golf Club and she enjoyed competing in match play in Utah.

And she treasures the opportunity to play in national tournaments, such as the North & South Women’s Amateur Championship at Pinehurst in North Carolina. She shot 77-74-77 to finish second in the Super Senior division in August.

I love to travel and I love to meet new people,” she said. “Golf gives you the opportunity to do both of those things.”

Gaiotti remains competitive against Utah golfers in their 50s, as she keeps proving. In addition to winning the Senior Am, she tied for second overall in the Senior Women’s Stroke Play tournament (taking the Super Senior title by nine strokes) and won the Spring Open with longtime playing partner Nuny Kham-one. They rallied in the final round at Sunbrook Golf Club, where Gaiotti made five birdies.

Annette Gaiotti totaled 172.5 points on the UGA’s Senior Women’s Player Performance Rankings and is the UGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year.
