Dunkle Named All-Region

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Utah senior golfer Kyler Dunkle has been named to the Division I PING All-Region West team, announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Dunkle finished tied for 28th at the NCAA Championships, the first Utah golfer to play at NCAA’s since 2006. He qualified for the NCAA Championships after tying for sixth place at the NCAA Stanford Regional.

Dunkle finishes his season with a 71.2 scoring average, which is tied for the Utah school record. He won two tournaments this year, the Showdown in the Rockies and the Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational and finished in the top 10 in six tournaments. Dunkle finished second at the Pac-12 Championships and became the first player to earn All-Pac-12 honors as a second-team selection.

Dunkle had a Utah record three career victories (which includes a win at the 2017 Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational) with a career scoring average of 71.8 over three seasons at Utah after transferring from Colorado State. He had six top five finishes and his 11 career top 10 finishes is second all-time at Utah.
