Mandur Cards 2-Under in Final Round at Pac-12 Championships, Utes Finish 12th

ROLLING HILLS ESTATES, Calif. – The Utah men's golf team closed out the 2017-18 season on Wednesday at the Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships, where the Utes finished 12th at the three-day conference event at the Rolling Hills Country Club.
 
Utah registered a final round score of 4-over par (359) to close out the tournament and finish with a combined score of 25-over par (371-345-370-359=1445).
 
“Overall, we struggled this week and did not perform to the level we would have liked to,” said Utah head coach Garrett Clegg. “It is great that our top two finishers this week are freshmen. As a team, we look forward to improving over the summer and getting ourselves ready for next year. We also want to congratulate Nate [Wunderli] on finishing his collegiate career today and wish the best for him.”
 
Freshman Tristan Mandur registered Utah's sole round under par on Wednesday, recording 2-under par (69) in the final round. Mandur finished in a tie for 34th place with a combined score of 1-over par (70-71-75-69=285). Freshman teammate Blake Tomlinson finished in a tie for 41stplace with a combined score of 3-over par (72-67-76-72=287).
 
Junior Kyler Dunkle shot a combined 6-over par (76-67-74-73=290) at the conference tournament to finish in a tie for 52nd place. Sophomore Jordan Costello placed in a tie for 58th overall with a four-round score of 8-over par (72-71-76-73=292).
 
Sophomore Mitchell Schow carded a combined three-day score of 10-over par (81-69-69-75=293) to finish in 65th place. In his final event as a Ute, Nathan Wunderli registered a combined score of 19-over par (82-73-76-72=303) to finish in 71st place.
 
In a field that included six of the top-30 teams in the country, No. 23-ranked USC came away with the conference title with a combined score of 31-under par (347-340-351-351=1389). Colorado (-27) finished four strokes shy of first place, while No. 22 Arizona State (-23) finished in third place.
 
Despite the finish on Tuesday, the Utah men's golf team was able to notch six top-five finishes throughout the season in 11 events, which included a tournament win that marked the program's first team title since the 2009 season. The Utes also recorded six individual top-10 performances, with three of those placing in the top-5 and one finish earning the individual title for the first time since 2006.
