Fore Lakes Superintendent T.A. Barker Campaigning for GCSAA Board Seat

Fore Lakes Golf Course Superintendent T.A. Barker is in the running for the newest member of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) Board of Directors. Including Barker, six individuals are campaigning for four spots on the board. The election will take place in San Antonio, Texas, at the Golf Industry Show on Thursday, February 8th.
Riley L. Stottern, former agronomist at Kokopelli Golf Club in St. George, is the GCSAA’s most recent Utah representative. Mr. Stottern served as president of the association in 1986.
If elected, T.A. will serve as co-chair of numerous committees and test groups involving education, membership services and benefits, government affairs, etc.
“The Golf Course Superintendents of America (GCSAA) is the worldwide leader in golf course management,” explained Barker. “Being nominated to represent the roughly 18,000 members is truly humbling. Serving my fellow superintendents has always been a desire of mine and if elected, I will be honored to serve them in this capacity.”
