DALLAS — Rose Huang tied for 10th place at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational while No. 45 BYU women’s golf placed ninth on Tuesday at Trinity Forest Golf Club.

The Cougars fired a final-round 308 (+20) to shoot +53 through 54 holes. Kansas State shot +14 in round three to edge Houston for the first-place victory.

“As a team, we struggled this week,” BYU head coach Carrie Roberts said. “We let the course beat us up, but it showed us where we need to get better and what we need to work on. It was really good to see Rose (Huang) manage herself so well this week.”

Huang carded 75 in round three to shoot 3-over on the day and finish the tournament at +8. The junior tied for 10th place individually, recording her second top-10 finish of the season.

Aiko Leong tied for 21st place at +13. The sophomore fired a third-round 77 on Tuesday, birdying a team-high four holes. Kendra Dalton finished the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational at 16-over, tying for 34th place.
