After the first round of the 2017 Utah Women’s Four-Ball Championship, Haylee Chugg and Kiselya Plewe held the lead by three strokes over Utah Valley University’s Carly Dehlin and Colorado State’s Jessica Sloot. Chugg and Plewe carded 64 on Mountain Dell’s Lake Course to climb to the top of the leader board.

However, Dehlin and Sloot put the heat on during the final round at Rose Park Golf Course. The team answered with a 66 to overtake the Round 1 leaders and earn the victory. Sloot holed out from 130 yards on the par-3 No. 3 to help the duo card a four-under 32 going out. Back-to-back birdies on the last two holes helped seal the deal, and Carly Dehlin and Jessica Sloot walked away as champions.

Sue Nyhus and Kari Lawrence carded two rounds of 64 to earn the Flight 1 Net win at 128, one stroke over runners-up Karen Valcarce and Cassandra Campos.

In Flight 2, Joanne Kim and Maria Newton won Gross with 74-78—152. Louisa Piper and Kathryn Casull by a five-stroke margin at 122. Cheryle Mason made her third career hole-in-one on the par-3 No. 11 from 121 yards. Her golf ball bounced through the greenside bunker, nailed the flagstick and disappeared. When she reached the green, she and her partner realized it had disappeared in the very best place possible—right in the hole! Only two more aces until she reaches her goal of five.

Keely Shurtz and Amy Griffin won Flight 3 Gross at 82-87—169, and Brenda Paris and Pamela Jones earned the Flight 3 Net victory with 63-64—127.
