TUCSON, Ariz. – The Utah men's golf team closed out action at the N.I.T. with a 14th-place finish on Tuesday, carding a three-round score of 17-over 881 (292-292-297) at the Omni Tucson National-Catalina course.

“Unfortunately, we just didn't get four rounds,” said Utah head coach Garret Clegg. “We needed two more rounds. Our scores didn't match the way we played. We have a couple days before our next tournament, and in the meantime, we will just have to improve on everything that was sloppy during this tournament. Kyler did a great job leading the team and played a solid three rounds. Gentry also played great and I liked the way he battled.”

Iowa State took first-place with a score of 32-under (832), followed by Arizona State and UNLV finishing in a tie for second-place after posting a score of 27-under (837). Texas El Paso finished in fourth-place with a score of 16-under (848), with Arizona rounding out the top five after posting score of 6-under (858).

Sophomore Kyler Dunkle shot 1-under 71 on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 13th-place with a combined score of 4-under 212. Senior Gentry Hicks followed in a tie for 36th-place, finishing at 2-over 218.

Freshman Jordan Costello tied for 62nd at 9-over 225, while freshman Mitchell Schow tied for 71st-overall with a three-round score of 11-over 227. Sophomore Nathan Wunderli rounded out Utah's scoring at 16-over 232 and finishing in a tie for 82nd overall.

Utah will have a few days off before returning to action at the Desert Mountain Collegiate on Saturday and Sunday, Mar. 4-5. The event will be hosted by the University of Michigan and will take place in Scottsdale, Arizona.
