Brett Sampson, Joey Bonsignore Utah Senior Open Low Amateur

Stephen Schneiter carded rounds of 70-67—137 to win the Joey Bonsignore Utah Senior Open by two strokes over David Desantis. Schneiter started the two-day event with a bogey-free back nine at Toana Vista to post his two-under 70 and edge Round 1 leader Desantis by two strokes.
Schneiter turned things around during the final round with a score of five-under-par 67, which happened to be just enough to overtake Desantis’ 71 and gave him his second consecutive Utah Senior Open title.
Brett Sampson earned Low Amateur in the Senior Championship Division with back to back scores of 70.
“I struggled on the front nine during my final round,” explained Sampson. “I bogeyed six, doubled seven, and bogeyed eight to lose the lead, but I was able to birdie five of my last seven holes to gain back the lead.”
Sampson’s consistency allowed him to regain the advantage and pull ahead of first-round co-leaders Patrick Murphy and Ron Davis, and he secured the win by three strokes over second-place finisher Steven Poulson.
In the Super Senior Division, Ruben Escobedo earned the title over David Fischer by one stroke with scores of 76-75—151.
