Team Nyhus Clinches Another Victory at Utah Women’s Four-Ball Championship

Sue and Kim Nyhus added yet another accomplishment to their already impressive list today at Mountain Dell Golf Course after carding a two-day gross total of 11-under-par 133 at the Utah Women’s Four-Ball Championship. The highly successful mother-daughter duo earned the early lead over Weber State’s Haylee Chugg and Xena Motes after Round 1 by carding a ten-under-par 61.

“Round 1 was awesome. Mom and I both played great,” said Kim. “We took turns making birdies and really played well as a team.”

The final match proved to be a little less easy peasy for Team Nyhus as they made considerably less birdies compared to the first round at Glendale Golf Course. Chugg and Motes were hot on their heels most of the day and nearly caught them with every passing hole.

“It was a back and forth match all day long,” stated Kim. “Haylee and Xena played great, and it really came down to the last hole.”

It was Kim who sealed the deal for the team by making a six-foot birdie putt on No. 18 to defeat Chugg and Motes by one stroke and shoot a Round 2 one-under-par 71.
