Cougars Win Own Classic, Christensen Medalist

BYU won its own Ping Cougar Classic Tuesday at Riverside Country Club by a comfortable 26-stroke margin, and Cougar Austin Christensen won medalist honors by one shot. Wyoming and Colorado State finished second and third respectively.

The ten team field consisted of all six Utah collegiate golf teams and the resurgent University of Utah team, led by Brandon  Kida, topped the other Utah schools with a fourth place finish.

Christensen had an outstanding tournament for the Cougars with an 11-under par score for the three rounds. He posted 68-69-68–205 to edge Colorado State’s Dominic Kiefer, who shot 69-67-70.
