Four things:

1. Don’t Forget to Renew!

Have you renewed your membership for 2016? Don’t forget! You only have until March 31st to renew before the $5 reinstatement fee kicks in. We have been doing our best to send out emails and notices letting you know that it’s time to renew, but in case you forgot, consider this your reminder! Need help renewing?

2. Tournaments

The 2016 tournament season has started off with a bang. Rhett Rasmussen, Kelsey Chugg, and Pat Murphy were crowned champions in their respective divisions at UGA Winterchamps. Rules and Competitions Director, Jacob Miller remarked, “The event was a huge success. We had beautiful weather, all three courses were in great shape, pace of play was great at around 4 to 4 ½ hours, and we had a full field of 240 players competing. We couldn’t have asked for it to run more perfectly.”

The Monday following Winterchamps, staff and volunteers stayed in St. George to run the 2016 USGA Four-Ball Qualifier. Dan Horner and Darrin Overson were the medalists with an eight-under 63. Three teams tied for second with a score of 65, and after a playoff, CJ Lee and Brett Sampson secured the second qualifying spot. The national event will be held at Winged Foot Golf Club May 21-25, 2016.

The next UGA championship is the Women’s Spring Open, which will be held April 18-19 at Coral Canyon and Green Spring. For more information or to register CLICK HERE.

3. Team Play

The 2016 8-Man Team and Women’s Team Play season is almost here! Megan Terry, UGA Programs Administrator, will be organizing and coordinating all league play this year. She has experience working with the league as she coordinated them last year as our intern.

When asked about the upcoming season, she excitedly explained: “We are excited for the 2016 season! We have made some great improvements including 3 more teams in the at-large division for men, new clubs playing in all divisions, and flexibility in scheduling and the playoffs.”

If you are interested in playing on league team, please contact your golf club or contact Megan at [email protected] for further details. You can also view more information here: MEN/WOMEN

4. Demo Day

Uinta Golf hosted their annual Multi-Vendor Demo Day on Saturday. Although it was chilly out, it seemed to be a great success with hundreds of people out testing out the latest equipment. We are looking to host a UGA Member Day at Uinta Golf later this spring. Stay tuned for more details.
