Cougars Finish in Middle of Pack at Stanford

BYU men’s golf team finished in the middle of the pack at The Goodwin tournament in Palo Alto, California on Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course. University of California at Davis ran away from the field and won the tournament by 10 shots over second place UNLV. The tournament attracted 26 teams and the Cougars finished in 14th place at 31 over par for the three rounds. UC Davis finished at 13 under par and was led by the brilliant play of Luke Vivolo who shot ten under par on rounds of 65-67-68-200.

The top three players shot 68 or better in all three rounds.

Patrick Fishburn led the Cougars with a 29th place finish at four over par on strong opening rounds of 69-69, but he closed with a 76.

BYU was the only Utah team in the tournament.

The next outing for the Cougars will be at Riverside Country Club at their own Cougar Classic April 11-12.
