BYU Freshman Rose Huang Finishes Second in Bay Area Tourney

Led by the runner-up performance of freshman Rose Huang the BYU Women’s golf team finished in fifth place in the Bay Area Intercollegiate yesterday.

Huang shot a second round 67, the lowest round of the tournament, and finished one shot behind medalist Hannah Suh of California. Suh shot 71-69-140 and Huang shot 74-67-141.

California won the team title with a score of 583 and the Cougars finished fifth at 594. Kendra Dalton was the second low Cougar with rounds of 75-75-150. She was followed by Lea Garner, 78-75-153; Brooklyn Hocker, 79-74; and Alex White, 76-79-155.

The strong performance by the freshman Huang should boost optimism for the entire Cougar team.
