Texas Wins John Burns Title; Cougars, Utes Struggle

Texas won the John Burns Invitational at Wailua Golf Course in Lihue, Hawaii Saturday by five shots over second place Colorado and BYU and Utah finished near the bottom of the 16 team field.

Texas was led by Beau Hossler and Gavin Hall and they shared medalist honors with Skye Inakoshi of Hawaii and KK Limbhasut of California at six under par 210.

BYU finished 13th and Utah finished 19 shots behind BYU in 15th place.

Patrick Fishburn and Austin Christensen shared low honors for the Cougars at four over par 220. Utah's Brandon Kida had an outstanding finishing round of 69 that offset his opening round of 80. Kida led the Ute players at 226, and Jose Pelayo and Gentry Hicks were just one back at 227.
