Utah Valley claims team and individual titles at Pat Hicks Invite

ST. GEORGE, Utah—The Utah Valley University men's golf team won the team title at the Pizza Pat Hicks Invitational at Sunbrook Golf Club on Tuesday, shooting a two-round score of 4-under-par 572 to beat out 11 other teams. JT Timmons won the individual title by three strokes with a two-round 10-under-par 134.

“This was a huge win for our program,” Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran said. “We are a young squad but we showed lots of toughness today. JT (Timmons) took the team on his back and had an unreal week. He loves Sunbrook. To get out second win in under a year shows we have the program moving in the right direction.”

The title marks the second team title for Utah Valley in less than a year as the Wolverines also won the Loyola Golf Invitational last season at Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.
