Pritchard Overtakes Duensing to Win St. George Am

Golf is a fickle game. If you don’t believe it, just ask Charlie Duensing.

Duensing started the 2016 golf season with the best tournament round of his life, a 61 in the first round of the St. George Amateur, and the very next day it took him 15 more strokes to play the same course, and instead of going home the champion he dropped into third place.

Zach Pritchard shot steady rounds of 69-66-135 to win the championship by one shot over Rhett Rasmussen who shot 66-70-136. Duensing was third at 61-76-137.

Jeff Powars shot steady rounds of 70-70-140 to win the Senior Division of the tournament. Kirk Siddens shot an opening round 67, but fell off the second day to a 75 and a 142 finish, two shots behind Powars. Pat Murphy finished third with 71-73-144.
