Weber State Wildcats Take Third at OGIO Utah Invitational

PARK CITY, Utah — The Weber State men's golf team placed three players inside the top-20 en route to a third-place finish at the OGIO Utah Invitational, which concluded on Tuesday at the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club.

The Wildcats shot rounds of 279 and 287 to sit in fourth place after 36 holes on Monday, and moved up another spot with a final-round 281 to post a five-under-par total of 847.

The Wildcats were led by Devon Purser, who shot back-to-back rounds of 66 on Monday before wrapping up the tournament with a 72 over the final 18 holes for an eight-under-par total of 205. Colton Dallimore and Alex Herzog joined Purser in the top-20 as Dallimore shot 67-75-69 to tie for 13th and Herzog shot 72-73-67 to tie for 18th at 212. Herzog's final round 67 was the second-best score of the day.

Houston earned the tournament's team title, shooting a total of 824 to finish 13 shots ahead of second place Utah State, who was led by individual medalist Seokwon Jeon. Jeon shot rounds of 66, 70 and 65 for a 12-under-par 201.

Utah's Trent Hill shot 203 to finish in second place on the individual leaderboard, while Utah State's Tanner Jenson shot 204 to finish third.

Weber State's Jaece Stokes shot rounds of 77, 77 and 73 to finish 52nd at 227, and Luke Crapo shot rounds of 73, 73, 83 to tie for 56th at 229 to round out the Wildcats' scoring five. Kyler Dearden played as an individual for WSU, and shot 75-74-74 for a total of 223 to finish in a tie for 44th.
