Wasatch Mountain Seniors Claim Back-to-Back 8-Man Titles

Wasatch Mountain State Park’s senior 8-man team defeated East Bay 21-15 in Wednesday’s final match at Hidden Valley Country Club. The 18-hole event on September 30th featured two of the 2015 senior league’s top seeded teams, No. 4 seed East Bay Golf Course and No. 7 seed Wasatch Mountain State Park. After finishing the season with 5-1 and 3-3 records respectively, East Bay and Wasatch Mountain each advanced through quarterfinal and semifinal playoff matches to earn spots in the eagerly sought-after final match at Hidden Valley.
PGA Professional Stu Nelson and accomplished amateur Kirk Siddens successfully earned 8.5 of 9 points over East Bay’s Randy Hicken and Corey Carter to give Wasatch Mountain a comfortable and consistent lead throughout the last three matches. It was Joe Cornwall and Kevin Pyle who secured Wasatch Mountain’s back-to-back victory after receiving 6 out of 9 points over Jim Archibald and Clark Barton in the third of four matches.
