Utah Valley men finish seventh at Itani Quali

PULLMAN, Wash.—The Utah Valley University men's golf team finished seventh with a three-round score of 24-over-par 876 (294-290-306) at the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
 
The Wolverines shot a final round scored of 22-over-par 306 on Tuesday to finish ahead of Weber State and Grand Canyon in the final standings. Tournament host Washington State won the team title with a score of 33-under-par 819 (272-267-280).
 
Blair Bursey led Utah Valley as he tied for 35th individually after carding a three-round score of 5-over-par 218 (71-70-77). It marks the second-straight tournament that the sophomore has been UVU's top finisher.
 
Senior Perry Wright finished in a tie for the 37th spot after recording a three-day total of 6-over-par 219 (77-68-74). Sophomore Ariel Elftman-Hanson tied for 42nd with a final score of 8-over-par 221 (73-72-76).
 
JT Timmons recorded the best final round score of the day for the Wolverines, carding a 1-over-par 72. The junior finished the tournament in a tie for 51st with a score of 10-over-par 223 (78-73-72).
 
Sophomore Dalton Jackson rounded out the scoring for UVU with a three-round total of 22-over-par 235 (73-83-79). Jackson wrapped up play in 64th place.
 
Utah Valley returns to Utah to compete in the Utah Invitational Oct. 5-6 at Jeremy Golf and Country Club in Park City.
