Cec Bohn, Owner of Glenmoor Golf Course, Passes Away

Cec Bohn, owner of Glenmoor Golf Course, passed away on Saturday, September 24th in Salt Lake City. He was an avid golfer from his early days and during his prime was very competitive on the Utah amateur tournament circuit.

He began golf as a caddy at the Salt Lake Country Club and paid for his college by working as a starter at the Bonneville Golf Course. Golf was a source of many of his life time friends and associates.

He was a close friend with the Schneiter family and was a business partner with Thair Schneiter in several ventures, including Glenmoor Golf Course.

Ralph Emery, another close golfing friend, and who planted most of the trees on the Glenmoor Golf Course, said, “No one loved golf more than Cec Bohn. He was easy to like and was honest and true in all his endeavors.”

He made match play in the Utah State Am seven years and defeated such accomplished players as two-time champion Arn Goff in a 19 hole match, Bert Bramwell, George Boss, Jack Noble, and Ralph Johnson. He lost to eventual champions Joe Bernolfo and Jon Mauss.

The viewing is Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 at Holladay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive. Funeral services with be Tuesday at 11 am at the Valley View 12th Ward, 2125 Evergreen Avenue.
