UVU Women’s Golf Team Hosts 16-Team Field at Hobble Creek
Sixteen women’s collegiate golf teams are gathered at Hobble Creek for the first day of a two day, 54-hole tournament hosted by Utah Valley University.
Teams in the field in addition to Utah Valley are Southern Utah and Weber State in addition to out of state team including Cal Poly, CSUN, Eastern Washington, Grand Canyon, Hawai'i, Idaho State, Montana, Montana State, New Mexico State, North Dakota, Northern Arizona, Santa Clara, UTRGV, as well as a few individuals from BYU will all take part at the tournament.
“We are very excited to host the Hobble Creek Fall Classic. We feel like the golf course sets up perfectly for women's golf and that it is a spectacular venue that is in great shape,” head coach Dr. Sue Nyhus said. “Our team is young and eager to be able to play close to campus, and they are all looking forward to having their friends and family come out and support them.”
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. MT each day with a shotgun start. Thirty-six holes will be contested on Monday while the final 18 will take place on Tuesday. Live scoring will be available for the duration of the tournament by visiting GolfStat.com.
Par will be set at 71 at the Classic and the course will be played at 6,032 yards.
