Chugg, Palmer Lead Utah to Best Scores of Day at USGA Women’s State Team
Kelsey Chugg shot the lowest individual score of the day and Utah shot the best team score of the day at the USGA Women's State Team Championship Saturday at Dalhousie Golf Club in Missouri.
Chugg shot 71 and teammate Sadie Palmer shot 72 for a team total of 143 and moved Utah from 29th place to ninth place going into Saturday’s final round.
It was one of the best single day performances by a Utah team in any USGA State Team Championship and puts the team in position for a high finish.
Chugg moved up to 10th place individually. She shot 75 in her opening round and now stands at two over par. Palmer had an opening round of 81. Annette Gaiotti is the third member of the Utah team and she has posted rounds of 83-79-162.
Florida leads the tournament at six under par and Dominique Calloway is the individual leader at three under par on rounds of 69-72-141.
