Finau Shares Brief Lead in PGA Championship, Five Off the Lead Heading Into Final Round

Tony Finau shared the lead for a brief time in the third round of the PGA Championship at Whistler Straits, but he finished with two bogeys and dropped into a tie sixth place going into Sunday’s final round.

All Utah eyes were on Finau as he put on a great showing. He shot 32 on the front and birdied the 11th hole to go five under for the day and 12 under for the tournament which at that time was a share of the lead.

Finau is paired with Martin Kaymer in the final round.

All eyes will be on the last twosome of the day with Jason Day holding a two-shot lead over history making Jordan Spieth who is making a quest to become the first modern day winner of three Majors in the same season. Both Day and Spieth have been spectacular. Day stands at 15 under par and Spieth is at 13 under. Day shot 32 on the back nine despite a double bogey and Spieth shot 65 without a bogey.

The tournament is being televised on CBS and Finau’s tee time Sunday is 12:27 Mountain Time. He is paired with Martin Kaymer.
