Two Utahns Fail to Advance in LPGA Tour Qualifying Test

Two women golfers from Utah, Sadie Palmer of Tooele and Alex Schulte of Roosevelt, played in the LPGA Stage One Qualifying Tournament at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California this past week. They each shot 16 over par in the four-day qualifying and finished in 137th place. The low 60 scores and ties advanced to the Stage Two qualifying test. That cut came at five over par.

Palmer shot 75-75-81-73-304 and Schulte shot 80-69-79-76-304.

The medalist was 17-year-old Bertine Strauss from South Africa. She shot 67-67-70-70-274. Another 17-year-old, Megan Khang finished one shot behind Strauss.
