Utah Valley men’s golf releases 2015-16 schedule

OREM, Utah—Utah Valley University head men's golf coach Chris Curran has released his team's 2015-16 schedule which consists of 10 tournaments, including the Loyola Collegiate where the Wolverines are the defending champions.

Utah Valley will travel to play events in seven different states with tournaments in Utah, Colorado, Washington, California, Arizona, Oregon and Oklahoma. The Wolverines will play two tournaments in the state of Utah, including the Utah Invitational at the Jeremy Golf and Country Club and the Pat Hicks Invitational in St. George, Utah.

“This year's schedule has a mix of tournaments we've never played in as well as tournaments we play in every year,” said Curran. “We are excited to defend our title at the Loyola Intercollegiate in February. This schedule will have us match up against some of the best teams in the country as well as give us an opportunity to win a few events.”

The Wolverines will open their fall season at the Colorado State Ram Masters (Sept. 21-22) at Fort Collins Country Club in Fort Collins, Colorado. Following the two-day tournament, Utah Valley will travel to Pullman, Washington the following week to participate in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate at Palouse Ridge golf course.

UVU will play its first tournament in the state of Utah on Oct. 5 when the team competes in the Utah Invitational at Jeremy Golf and Country Club. The Wolverines will then wrap up the fall season Oct. 29-31 at the Pacific Invitational at Stockton Golf and Country Club in Stockton, California.

Utah Valley will take a three-month winter break before opening its spring schedule on Feb. 28 at the Loyola Intercollegiate—a tournament the Wolverines won last season. The Loyola Intercollegiate will be played at the Palm Valley golf course in Goodyear, Arizona.

The Wolverines will continue spring play at the Bandon Dunes Championship, March 6-8, at Bandon Dunes Resort in Bandon, Ore. Utah Valley will then return to Chambers Bay, site of this past year's US Open, to compete in the Redhawk Invitational (April 4-5) for a second-straight year.

The team's final tune-up before the WAC Championship will take place April 11-12 at the ORU Shootout at Forest Ridge golf course in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Wolverines will then compete for a league title at the WAC Championship (May 1-3) at Loomis Trail golf course in Blaine, Washington.
