Fishburn Shoots 62 to Win SA Medalist Honors at Schneiter’s Bluff
Patrick Fishburn shot ten under par 62 to earn medalist honors by a three stroke margin at the Utah State Am Qualifying at Schneiter’s Bluff golf course Wednesday. The score reminds everyone that Fishburn has the ability to go deep and must be considered as one of the favorites for the Utah State Am title.
The cut came at 72 and Robert Smart edged Michael Cooney in a playoff for the final spot. Cooney becomes the first alternate.
The second alternate is Spencer Wallace. He won the six-way playoff for the spot.
Some of the strong players who didn’t advance included Tommy Wingert, Jr., Dan Nuttall, and Derek Squire.
