Three Share Ben Lomond Am Title; Twenty Scores at Par or Better

Three well established players shot 67 and split first prize at the Ben Lomond Amateur Saturday. The winners, all familiar names in the Ogden area, were Brett Garner, Tyler Herzog, and Keaton Woodland. One shot back at 68 were Jared Humphries and Tanner Alder.

The field was full of quality players and 20 shot par or better.

The Herzog boys and dad are always near the top of the scoreboard and in this event Tyler shared first place with a 67, Jordan shot 69, and father Nate shot 71.

Another Summerhays name appeared among the leaders, Caleb, who shot 71. We’re not sure which branch of the Summerhays tree he has sprouted from, but he is starting to blossom.

Another way to judge the strength of field is to see what score Jeff Powars shoots and anyone who beats that score has played some very good golf. The Powars standard is as good as the gold standard. Powars shot 71 and a look at the scoreboard shows there were nine players better than the Gold Standard.

All in all it was a great tournament and the boys in the Ogden area always have some fun.
