Finau Crosses Million Dollar Mark at Byron Nelson Classic; Blair Finishes 16th, Pinckney Second

Tony Finau finished tenth at the Byron Nelson Classic and crossed the million dollar mark in his first year on the PGA Tour. He shot 67-64-68-68-267 and finished tied for tenth with five other players. Finau went into the tournament with total winnings of $985,412 and when he made the cut he was assured of reaching the million dollar plateau. For his tie for tenth he earned $157,383.

Zac Blair trailed Finau by only one shot, and that was good for a tie for 16th place. Blair shot 69-64-66-69-268. Blair had to share 16th place money with five other players and pocketed $102,950. That one stroke difference between Blair and Finau was $54,433.

Former Utahn Scott Pinckney finished in a tie for second and that also put him over the million dollar mark at $1,108,060, just $35,000 shy of Finau.

Steve Bowditch won the title by four shots with a marvelous performance of 18 under par for the four days. Bowditch started with a 62 and finished with a 64 and sandwiched 68-65 in between for a 259 total.

The tournament this week is the Memorial at Muirfield Village.
