Utah Valley Men’s Golf finishes fourth at El Macero Classic















EL MACERO, Calif.—The Utah Valley University men's golf team wrapped up play at the El Macero Classic on Sunday with a fourth place finish after shooting a final round 11-over-par 299 for a three-round total of 17-over-par 881 at the El Macero Country Club.
Tournament host UC Davis won the team title with a score of 865 (+1). Sacramento State and Marquette finished in a tie for second at 875 (+11). The Wolverines finished fourth ahead of Nevada (887), Cal Poly (890), Cal State Fullerton (899), Grand Canyon (909) and Fresno State (915). 
Senior Brayden Eriksen and sophomore JT Timmons each finished in the top 10 individually. Eriksen tied for fourth after shooting a three-round total of even par 216 (72-71-73). He carded a final round score of 1-over-par 73 to finish in the top 10 for the fifth time this season. Timmons finished seventh with a three-day score of 2-over 218 (72-73-73). He also shot a 1-over 73 on Sunday.
“Brayden and JT both had great tournaments,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “For us to not finish better than fourth with two guys in the top 10 is a bit of a disappointment. We know what we need to do to compete at the WAC Tournament.”
Senior Michael Dart shot a final round 72 (+2) for a three-round score of 6-over 222 (72-76-74).  Dart moved up 10 spots from round two to finish in a tie for 16th. Freshman Blair Bursey finished in a tie for 30th after recording a three-day score of 9-over 225 (72-74-79).
Ariel Elftman-Hanson shot a final round 83 (+11) to place him in 54th place. The freshman tallied a three-round score of 26-over 242 (80-69-83).
UC Davis' Luke Vivolo won individual medalist honors with a three-round total of 206 (-10).
Utah Valley now preps for WAC Tournament play, which will take place April 20-22 at the Wigwam Country Club in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
