UVU Men’s Golf: Wolverines finish in a tie for 11th at Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash.—The Utah Valley University men's golf team finished in a tie for 11th place in the 18-team field at the Redhawk Invitational after shooting a three-round score of 918. The Wolverines shot a 308 in the final round at Chambers Bay Golf Club on Tuesday.

“We had two guys play fairly well but couldn't get a good third or fourth score,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “Middle of the pack is not what we had hoped for this week.”

Freshman Ariel Elftman-Hanson led the Wolverines as he finished the two-day, 54-hole tournament in a tie for 27th place after carding a 16-over-par 226 (75-77-74) in the 92-player field.

Brayden Eriksen carded a three-round score of 17-over-par 227 (73-75-79) to finish in a tie for 30th. The senior scored the lowest round of the tournament for the Wolverines, recording a first-round 73.

Sophomore JT Timmons and senior Michael Dart finished in a tie for 57th at 235 (+25). Freshman Blair Bursey rounded out the scoring with a 26-over-par 236 to tie for the 63rd spot.

Utah Valley will continue play this week as the team travels to Davis, California to compete in the El Macero Classic at the El Macero Country Club. The three-day tournament will begin on Friday and will conclude on Sunday.
