Haley Dunn finishes tied for second overall at Sonoma State Spring Invite
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – Haley Dunn (Layton, UT/Layton) came back from 29th place after day one to shoot a one-under-par 71 on day two, finshing in second place overall. Dixie State's women's golf team took 10th at the Sonoma State Spring Invite.
Also known as the NCAA West Regional Spring Preview, the tournament brought in the best teams in the west and Barry University won it with a 608 team total. DSU finished with a 652 over two rounds of golf at the Foxtail Golf Club.
“Haley did a fantastic job today and proved that the course was scoreable,” head coach Rachel Harmonsaid. “It was great to have her play it well since we expect her to be back here in a few weeks playing regionals as an individual.”
Dunn combined for a 151 (+7) after an 80 in the opening round.
Shelby Madden (Iroquois Falls, Ontario Canada/Iroquois) matched her 80 from the day before to finish tied for 33rd overall.
“Shelby was steady and was striking the ball well,” Harmon said.
Finishing tied for 60th, Cobair Collinsworth (Sandy, UT/Brighton) posted a 90 on day two after a 78 yesterday while Brittney Bisgrove (McKinleyville, CA/Arcata) added an 88 after an 87 on day one to tie for 79th.
Justine Connell (Draper, UT/Juan Diego) posted a 91 in her second round, finsihing 81st overall.
Dixie State will host the Pacific West Conference Golf Championships at the Sunbrook Golf Course in St. George on April 20-22.
