Utah Valley Men’s Golf in 10th place after two rounds at Redhawk Invitational

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash.—The Utah Valley University men's golf team sits in 11th place after two rounds of play Monday in the 18-team field at the Redhawk Invitational at Chambers Bay Golf Club.

The Wolverines shot a two-round 36-hole score of 610 (303-307) on Monday. Washington holds a 22-stroke lead heading into Tuesday's final round after shooting a two-round score of 1-under-par 559.

“The course setup was very difficult today,” said Utah Valley head coach Chris Curran. “If you lost focus for one shot, it could mean the difference between a par and a double bogey. We started on a tough stretch of holes and started poorly. The course rocked our confidence early and we struggled to find our games later in the day. We will regroup tonight and come out fighting tomorrow.”

Brayden Eriksen is in a tie for 19th after two rounds of play. Eriksen shot a first round score of 3-over-par 73 followed by a second round 5-over-par 75. The senior carded a two-round total of 8-over-par 148.

Freshman Ariel Elftman-Hanson carded a 36-hole score of 12-over-par 152 (75-77) to sit in a tie for 42nd.  Sophomore JT Timmons and senior Michael Dart are each tied for 55th after carding two-round scores of 15-over-par 155. Freshman Blair Bursey is in a tie for 74th after recording a 36-hole score of 161 (83-78).

Utah Valley will play the third and final round of the Redhawk Invitational on Tuesday. The Wolverines will tee-off at 8 a.m. Final round live scoring will be available at WolverineGreen.com.
