SLC Council Learns What Everyone Knew, Nibley Park Must Remain a Golf Course
The fate of Nibley Park golf course was already determined, but a few Salt Lake City council members had 'visions of sugar plums' dancing in their heads and hoped that they could shut it down and turn it into something else.
After making a big fuss they learned what was already common knowledge, the land was given to Salt Lake City by Charles Nibley for one purpose, to build and manage a public golf course and it was also common knowledge that the deed of trust clearly states that the land must be used for that purpose or returned to the Nibley family. No surprise!
So apparently the Nibley Park golf course is now off the chopping block.
