Summerhays Posts Top Five Finish at Valero Texas Open

Daniel Summerhays saved his best round until last at the Valero Texas Open and climbed up the leader board to a solid fourth place finish. His final round 69 included five birdies and three bogeys. His four day tally was three under par 71-73-72-69-285 and he earned $272,800.He finished eight shots behind the winner Jimmy Walker who was under par every day with rounds of 71-67-69-70-285.

Tony Finau had an inconsistent performance. He shot an opening round of 79, but a strong second round 69 enabled him to make the cut and play the weekend, but he shot closing rounds of 76-77 and tied for 68th place out of 75.

Zac Blair missed the cut.

Finau remains ahead of Summerhays in the money earned rankings. Through the Valero Texas Open Finau stands at $771,796 and Summerhays has nearly caught up with him with a total of $747,056. Blair has pocketed $638,048.
