Kirk Siddens announced as UGA Senior Men’s Player of the Year!
For the second straight year Kirk Siddens has been named the UGA Senior Player of the Year. He won both the overall and senior divisions of the UGA Tournament of Champions, the UGA Senior Match Play title, and the Salt Lake City Senior Am. He also partnered with Brett Sampson to win the UGA Senior Four-Ball crown.
In winning the Salt Lake Senior Am he also posted the greatest round of the year in Utah when he shot a final round of 60 at Rose Park that included a hole-in-one on the 13th hole. He shot 32 on the front and 28 on the back.
To win the overall division of the Tournament of Champions he birdied the last three holes to edge Kai Ruiz and Jason Hargett in an exciting playoff at Soldier Hollow.
“It’s an honor to win the Senior Player of the Year Award,” Siddens said. “We have nine or ten very strong, competitive players,” he said, ‘and any one of them can win any of the tournaments we play.”
The UGA began designating a Senior Player of the Year in 2009. Siddens and Steve Poulson and Bill Probst have each won the title twice.
Before becoming a senior Siddens was the UGA Co-Player of the Year in 2006. He shared that honor with Tony Finau. He was also runnerup in the Utah State Am in 1999.
Siddens has been a prominent player in the Utah-Arizona Shootout and stands third in total points scored by an individual on the Utah team.
Siddens owns his own carpet cleaning business, Cleanville. It is located in South Salt Lake.
