Summerhays Loses Ground at Sanderson
With most of the PGA Tour’s top stars playing in China this week the Sanderson Farms Championship looked like a good opportunity for other pros on tour to post a high finish, but it didn’t work out that way for the Utahns on tour.
Daniel Summerhays was the only Utahn to make the cut at Sanderson. He shot 72-68-140 to make the cut in 21st place, but his third round score of 71 dropped him into 28th place going into the final round. Two years ago at this tournament Summerhays posted his highest tour finish by taking second place.
Tony Finau and Zac Blair, who are rookies on tour this year, missed their first cuts of the year. They missed the cut with two round scores of 145. Finau shot 73-72 and Blair posted 72-73.
