BYU Women Finish Fourth in Hawaii

BYU’s women’s golf team led the three Utah colleges participating in the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii at the Leilehua Golf Course. The Cougars finished fourth while Weber State finished tied for tenth and Utah Valley finished 13th in the 14 team field. It was a two-day 54-hole tournament.
Lea Garner of BYU was the top performer of the Utah teams with a sixth place individual finish on rounds of 69-76-76-221.
Vanderbilt, the team that travelled the farthest, won the tournament by a comfortable margin of 34 strokes over second place Boise State.
Vanderbilt’s Cindy Ha earned individual medalist honors at 6-under par (73-69-68–210) while her teammate Kendall Martindale placed second at 4-under (68-71-73–212).
Low score for Weber was posted by Haley Chugg (76-77-73-226) and low score for Utah Valley was posted by Cassandra Lesser (78-76-76-239).
