Siddens-Sampson, Win UGA Four-Ball Title

On the strength of seven birdies and an eagle the team of Kirk Siddens and Brett Sampson leap-frogged over Mike Jorgensen and Bill Probst to win the first annual UGA Four-Ball Championship Tuesday at Hubbard Golf Course at Hill Air Force Base.
Jorgensen and Probst were the first round leaders with a 66 and although they duplicated that score in the second round it wasn’t good enough to offset the 67-63-130 total of Siddens and Sampson.
Earlier this year Siddens and Sampson teamed in the four-ball and foursome segment of the Governor’s Cup Matches and won all their points to help the UGA win the Cup.
The best ball score of 63 was rather ho-hum for Siddens who this year has shot 60 and 63 on his own ball. His 63 helped him win the UGA Tournament of Champions and his 60 helped him edge Jeff Powars for the Salt Lake Senior Amateur title. Siddens also won the Senior Match Play title this year.
Sampson has also had a strong season and leads the UGA Senior Player Performance standings.
The leading scores in the UGA Four-Ball Championship were as follows:
130- Kirk Siddens-Brett Sampson, 67-63
132- Mike Jorgensen-Bill Probst, 66-66
133- Jeff Goettsche-Craig Wilson, 67-66
135- Brandon Hargett-Jason Hargett, 69-66
