Ebalo Losses in Second Round of USGA Mid-Am

Kenny Ebalo, of Las Vegas, Nevada, and formerly of Southern Utah University and a regular on the UGA tournament circuit, earned the fifth seed and won his first round match in the USGA Mid-Amateur but lost in the second round. He defeated Carlton Forrester of Atlanta, Georgia, 6 and 5, but lost to 37th seed Corby Segal, of Santa Clarita, California, 5 and 4.
In the early morning Utah’s Mark Neider was one of 16 players seeking three remaining match play spots, but Neider was eliminated. Jon Wright, reigning two-time Utah State Am champion, was eliminated during the 36-hole qualifying round.
