College Golfers Top Leaderboard at UGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship

Collegiate golfers dominated the first round of the UGA Women’s Stroke Play Championship Monday at Hubbard Golf Course at Hill Air Force Base. The final round is Tuesday.
Two Cougars, junior Lea Garner and freshman Kendra Dalton, shot three under par 69s and hold a two shot lead over another Cougar, Carly Oldroyd, and Sadie Palmer formerly of Southern Utah carded 71s.
Kelsey Chugg, former Weber State player, and reigning Utah State Women’s Amateur champion, shot even par 72 and is still very much in the chase.
Sue Nyhus, a former BYU player when her name was Billek, a former BYU golf coach, and now coach at Utah Valley University, shot 73 and is holding up the hopes of the senior segment. She finished here round with an eagle and two birdies.
